Maggie Rosenbaum Takes First Place in CSI Challenge

2013 Apr 9

Mount St. Mary's University student Maggie Rosenbaum from Herndon, VA was part of the three-member team that received first-place honors at the 2013 Annual CSI Challenge. The Challenge - hosted by the Mount - welcomed 35 investigative teams of students from the University of Maryland, Towson University, George Mason University, Guelph-Humber University in Canada and the Mount.

First Place team members included: Maggie Rosenbaum, C '15, Michelle Rose, C '15, and Bridgette Nitza-Buwala, C '15

"Our Mount students' investigative, forensic, report writing, and problem skills shined during this year's competition," said Criminal Justice Program Director Joseph Vince. "We are proud of the Mount student leaders and members of the Criminal Justice Student Association who received high praise from both the practicing professionals and visiting university faculty members for the planning and execution of a flawlessly run event."

The CSI competition, established to encourage educational pursuits in the career fields of forensic science and criminal investigation offers students the opportunity for real-world experience supplied by a mock-crime scene, coupled with the stress of competition and time constraints. The Challenge's objective is to demonstrate professional proficiency, scientific expertise, and critical thinking required of persons engaged in crime scene evidence recovery and laboratory examination.
